‘Hypocrite’: ‘Black Ink Crew: Chicago’ Fans Slam Van for Chastising His Daughter After Busting Her with Weed

This week’s episode of “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” was extremely intense after Van Johnson got into a heated discussion with his teenage daughter about drug use.

It’s no secret that Johnson is extremely protective of his 15-year-old daughter Brianna and wants nothing but the best for her. Therefore, it wasn’t extremely surprising when he exploded on his child when he found out she’d apparently been using marijuana.

Johnson and his longtime girlfriend Jenn, apparently found Cigarillos, which people sometimes use to roll a blunt, hidden in the teen’s shoebox in her room. The tattoo artist angrily confronted his daughter on his findings, shouting, “You smoking weed in my mutherf–king house?’

Brianna nervously shrugged her shoulders before saying, “No I was holding that for a friend of mine.”

Johnson called BD on his daughter’s apparent lie before blurting out, “Listen man, I’m not finna sit here and look you in your eyes and you sit up here and lie to me. I just found some f–king blunts in your shoe box. You need to be honest before since I’m giving you a chance.”

Moments later, the 15-year-old finally confessed to seemingly partaking in marijuana use, saying, “They’re mine. … I’m sorry.”

Some “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” viewers he was being a little too hard on his daughter and was a hypocrite, while others commended his parenting methods.

“Van did the right thing!! “Do as your told not as I do!’ Yea, Im from that era. I know most millenials have a hard time abiding by this rule. But honestly following those guidelines hasn’t ever failed me yet. 🤷🏾‍♀️ (80’s👶🏾).”

“They see what the parents do so had to get it from somewhere why is the hookah there what’s in the hookah.”

“Hypocrite! He smokes weed himself so he really can’t be that mad and she’s 17 yeah she live in his house but if she wanna smoke she going to just like when him and Jen wanna smoke they do 🤷🏽‍♀️.”

“I think he handled it perfectly, you NEVER reward a Child when they do wrong! He let her know it’s unacceptable in his home. Good job holding off on the car for ❤️ awhile 👏🏽.”

Johnson later shared a post on Instagram with a photo of himself and his two daughters, including Brianna. He noted that everybody makes mistakes and that he just wants the best for his children.

“We’ve all made mistakes in our lives and I’m always on these two to continue doing great,” he wrote. “Love is Real in my Family #VANSKIDS.”
