‘Gahhhdamn!’: Ashanti’s Banging Body, Curves Have Folks Losing Their Minds

It’s pretty clear Ashanti is having a hot girl summer.

The “Unfoolish” singer recently teamed up with online fashion brand PrettyLittleThing for her new swimwear collection and posted several sexy photos of herself showing off a few pieces from her line. One image in particular captured the 38-year-old celeb soaking up the sun in front of a Hollywood beach, according to her geolocation, while modeling a two-piece green bikini set.

The swimwear top included cut-outs around the inner portions of her breasts and high waist bottoms that were also cut out around the waist and tummy area. The set showed off Ashanti’s tight abs, toned thighs and über-curvaceous body.

She struck a fierce pose for the camera with her beach flowing tresses pushed in front of her right shoulder and her makeup slayed to a T. Announcing her line, she wrote via Instagram, “Ashanti x @OfficialPLT designed by @liltuneshi Available Now!!! 🔥👙.”

Her post received over 108,000 likes as well as comments from those who gaped over her appearance.

“You are killing them! Multi-talent beautiful woman! ❤️ ma’am pleaseee get your foot off our necks 😭.”

“Thank you god for creating @ashanti you are beyond fine geesh 😍👑❤️ omg u fine as hell.”

“Whewwwww girl u are GORGEOUS! No shade to Nelly but he really f–ked up when he had you! You shutting this IG s–t down 🔥🔥.”

Among crushing “Woman Crush Wednesday” on Instagram, Ashanti seems to be embracing her title as a swimwear designer.

Her line with PrettyLittleThing includes a variety of bold pieces and colorful swimwear pieces for women to feel confident in during the summer months.

“I feel like everyone deserves to look and feel amazing,” she told E-News in June. “I wanted pieces that would empower women.”

A few of her pieces include a sexy lime-green bikini which she was photographed wearing, a metallic two-piece set and a peacock print set. Her line was influenced by tropical areas such as the Amazon and Caribbean. The collection which launched on July 1 also features coverups, one-pieces and plus sizes.

“These all stand out because they’re so different and exotic and they come in a variety of cuts for each body,” Ashanti added.

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
