Nipsey Hussle‘s daughter Emani Asghedom graduated from elementary school in recent days, and on Sunday the family shared photos of the celebration.
In one picture, you can see Asghedom with her aunt Samantha Smith, who was granted custody of the 10-year-old in May. This was after Smith’s family claimed the child’s biological mother Tanisha Foster was an unfit parent.
Two-and-a-half-year-old Kross Asghedom, whose mother was Hussle’s girlfriend Lauren London, is in the photo as well. There’s also a picture of the late rapper’s brother Blacc Sam at the celebration.
“Just to see a lot of people surrounding her with love & light it’s beautiful,” read a message next to the photos. “You’re father is definitely smiling really big right now. I know he is so proud of you. Such a strong solid family. Let’s please continue to lift them all up with prayers & a lot of guidance. Nipsey has definitely raised a smart queen.”
Plus, Emani Asghedom gave a short speech at the graduation ceremony and mentioned her father, as well as her mother.
“I want to begin by sharing my thankfulness for my mom for believing in me and my dad for always being there for me,” she stated.
“Congratulations Emani,” one person wrote on Instagram after the photos were posted. “Good the family has something to celebrate for awhile, he’s watching over you guys and he’s so proud of you.”
“Congratulations Emani!” wrote someone else under the clip of her speech. “What an intelligent little girl. Your father’s legacy is in good hands.”
Hussle was shot and killed on March 31 in South Los Angeles in front of his store The Marathon Clothing at age 33.
The suspect, Eric Holder, was apprehended shortly after and is currently behind bars on $7 million bond. He’s pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and assault with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
On June 23, Hussle received the Humanitarian Award at the BET Awards, which was accepted by his mother, London and others.
