Single Evelyn Lozada has made it clear she’s ready to mingle, but she has her standards high as she wades into the dating world. It’s with good reason, too, as the “Basketball Wives” star has not exactly been lucky in love. That’s something she threw shade at during a recent Q&A with fans.
Taking some time out on Sunday, June 9, to chat, the star was candid about her thoughts on dating and her past relationships.
Lozada revealed she would walk down the aisle again despite her two-month marriage to Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson coming to an end after he headbutted his bride during a domestic dispute. Lozada had confronted Johnson when she found condoms, leading to the violence.
“My first marriage was so short! Not sure if it counts, but yes ❤” she said of remarrying.
Addressing what she’s learned so far about relationships with men she said, “No man will love me how I love myself❤. I set the bar high lol.”
Then, perhaps the most overt shade came when a fan asked if she enjoys being single.
“I’m happy knowing I’m not getting cheated on lol #TooGrown,” she said.
The dig is likely toward her ex-fiancé, former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford. When the couple ended their four-year relationship in 2017, Lozada’s representatives alleged to TMZ that the breakup was over the star’s suspicions that Crawford had been unfaithful.
That same year, insiders blabbed to Bossip that the ex-MLB star was unfaithful and had a reputation for throwing lavish house parties that included models in skimpy outfits who were paid to perform for Crawford and his pals.
“Girls would be looking forward to CC parties every offseason,” said one woman who went to a 2016 bash. “He would pay to fly girls out, put them up in hotels, two to a room. A girl could make $2500 a night just for dancing and if he liked you he would bring you back the next night. If he REALLY liked you, you could make even more money to do a little extra.”
She also claimed Crawford had sex with “multiple girls.”
In one of the last Instagram Story questions, Lozada sounded off on regrets with relationships. She said, “I regret ignoring red flags in previous relationships 😒.”
As Lozada continues to navigate the single life, her standards may be high but she’s not putting any limits on who may walk into her life. She declared on Instagram in March that she isn’t “curving no dudes this year! May the best one win! I’m going on dates with all of ya’ll.. #Periodt.”
