Since ditching wigs and wearing her natural hair, “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Masika Kalysha is getting compared to music icon Whitney Houston in the looks department.
The television personality uploaded several images of herself without any extensions, wearing her natural mane in a high bouffant. She apparently was getting ready to get glammed up but wanted to show off her “before” looks first.
In her post, she asked fans who her hairstyle reminded them of out of “Don King,” “Marge Simpson” and the “mad scientist.”
“Getting ready for glam in my @fashionnova tryna convince my hair dresser that this is the look 😂🤷🏽♀️😁,” she wrote. “Tell me in the comments, who does my ponytail remind you of?”
A few fans gave their reactions.
“I’d say Marge Simpson or even better….an 80’s workout chick 😍😍😍 80’s hair was and STILL is the best hair era EVER‼️.”
“You remind me of Don King 🤣 like a damn eraser.”
Other folks felt she was giving off Whitney Houston ’80s vibe with her curly teased hair.
“Whitney Houston … anita baker kinda feel 😩😍.”
“It reminds me of Whitney Houston sort of Whitney Circa 1989 .”
“Hair style git you, and the third pic remind me of a young whitney ❤️ so beautiful.”
However, Kalysha actually has a passion for hair and created her own hair care line called Kharie Barbie Beauty. The collection was inspired by 2-year-old daughter Kharie Barbie Maxwell, whom the television personality shares with rapper Fetty Wap.
She premiered the line in July 2017, including her growth-stimulating formula and her infamous Everyday Baby Hair Oil. She wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post on her launch day, “Everybody has been asking me for my hair oil that I make for my daughter! Well it is now available. I make this product by hand in my kitchen with only the finest organic, essential and carrier oils.”
Kalysha added that her homemade concoction helped her hair grow three inches within two months, writing, “From September to November, my hair grew about 3 inches.”
Kalysha’s hair products can be found on www.kharibarbiebeauty.com. The cost of the items range from $2 to $55.
