The “Wopsters” are causing havoc all over social media this week.
Keyshia Ka’Oir and her rapper husband Gucci Mane have been together for almost 10 years and reportedly celebrated their first anniversary in October, so fans thought. When the twosome revealed they’d actually tied the knot in May, it caused a maelstrom of confusion.
Ka’Oir took to Instagram on Tuesday with a photo of Gucci and herself unwinding on a yacht, apparently in Miami. The model shouted out her husband in her caption, wishing him a happy anniversary.
“Today, May 14th is our day for many beautiful reasons!!” she wrote. “We met 5/14/10 Got married 5/14/17 #TheWopstersAnniversary ❤️💍 #514 #1017.”
Gucci Mane responded with a heartfelt post of his own, sharing a photo of himself and his wife, writing, “2 yrs Of Marriage Today 🏹🏹 #Wopsters.”
The pair’s commemorations of their supposed special day sent fans into a wave of confusion. Reason No. 1, Ka’Oir and Gucci celebrated their wedding anniversary last fall, and No. 2, fans pointed out that the rapper has “1017” in his profile handle, seemingly commemorating their thought-to-be wedding date October 2017.
“I thought you’ll got married 10-17 I’m so confused it’s not in October 😩 hold df up lol?”
“I thought they was married on 10/17/17👀 ummmmmm wtf is going here?”
“So they got necklaces made with 10/17 on them for the date it was aired on tv🤔 wow they lied about they anniversary.”
“Wait…I thought they got married 10/17. Or maybe that was the big wedding & they married privately 5/14 🤔 CAAAPPP‼️”
Others fans pointed out that Ka’Oir and Gucci may have eloped in May 2017 and had their ceremony in October.
“Ya’ll slow 😩🤣, she said they got married on the 5/14 not that the wedding was the 5/14… smh it’s two different event..”
“They probably got they certificate 5/14 and had the wedding 10/17 who f–king knows 😐.”
The couple met in 2010 on the set of the “Icy” rapper’s “911 Emergency” music video and apparently have been inseparable ever since.
Following the Atlanta native being released from the slammer in 2016 after serving three years behind bars for federal drug and gun charges, he followed up with a proposal to Ka’Oir at an Atlanta Hawks game on Nov. 22.
It was rumored that they’d tied the knot before the airing of their million dollar ceremony on BET’s “Mane Event” which was shown live on television in October 2017. But it seems the elopement rumors at the time were true.
Despite the pair revealing this week that their actual wedding date is May 2017, Ka’Oir still shared a sweet anniversary post to her husband last October and wrote, “Happy Anniversary my amazinggggg husband @laflare1017 !! Although we were already married, 10/17 is a very special day for us! As we celebrate 8years together, we celebrate our milestones with so many memories! I Love u soooooooosooooo much my LIFE partner! MRS DAVIS❤️ #1017.”
