‘What Is She Teaching Him?’: Draya Michele’s Photo With Toddler Makes Followers Seriously Uncomfortable

Basketball Wives L.A.” alum Draya Michele is no stranger to controversy surrounding her parenting, so a new one swirling up in time for beach season should come as no surprise.

This time, fans took issue with an image of the one-time reality star appearing to get a little too affectionate for comfort with her young son, Jru “Drew” Scandrick.

In pictures she shared to her Instagram account Monday, Michele walked along the beach with 3-year-old Jru, soaking up some bonding time in the sunshine.

“Me + you ❤️” Michele captioned the photoset.

One image in particular quickly caught the attention of Michele’s followers and current “Basketball Wives” viewers. It seemed to show Jru in his mother’s face, his lips directly in front of Michele’s open mouth. The moment was snapped as Michele rinsed the sand off the toddler’s body.

Immediately, fans weighed in with negativity.

“Stop kissing him like that.”

“Um yea hi hello is he spitting in her mouth?? What none of y’all seen this disgusting pic… like what is she teaching him at this young age.. she clearly sees nothing wrong with the pic…. yea just see the swim wear #wakeup.”

“WTF 😵😵🤪🤪🤪🤭🤭🤭🤭🤢🤮🤮”

“O hell naw and ur mouth open.”

Regardless, there were a few commenters who stepped up to defend Michele, blaming the image on a brief moment captured in a photo.

“It’s a picture.. time is stopped… she may have been talking to him and he caught her by surprise … even if that wasn’t the case it’s her kid.”

“Sometimes kids run up faster than you think… I doubt she wanted to slob all over her baby.”

“Ppl are so ignorant!!! Will find ANY petty ass reason to hate!!!🙄🙄🙄”

It’s far from the first controversy the ex-“Basketball Wives” star has had surrounding her parenting skills. Back in 2017, Michele posted an ill-received rant about having to sign off on her teenage son Kniko Howard’s homework.

“I’m all for helping my child with his homework, but at this point, [the teacher] has him harassing me with his speech,” she wrote in the Instagram post, which was accompanied by a screenshot of a text thread with Kniko. “I don’t wanna hear it no more! I’m hearing it two times a day for a month straight … Last night he asked me to sign and I said, ‘No. Tell your teacher I’m done with this.’ And today he doesn’t get points because I don’t wanna sign it. It’s not my damn homework. But it feels like it. What do y’all think?”
