‘Did Anybody Get a Heads Up?’: Cynthia Bailey Playfully Mocks Nene Leakes Fallout as She Surprises Kandi Burruss

Cynthia Bailey isn’t afraid to poke fun at herself, even if it’s a dark moment. Case in point: The Seagram’s Escapes event that led to the demise of her friendship with Nene Leakes. Recently, the model decided to joke about what caused the friction when she popped up on “Strahan and Sara” unbeknownst to pal Kandi Burruss.

Burruss visited the set of the talk show, which is an extension of “Good Morning America,” Monday to promote her restaurant Old Lady Gang with her mom and aunts.

Bailey had appeared on the program a week earlier, and since she was still in New York she made her return to support her pal, who was alleged to have been in an alliance with Bailey to boot Leakes from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

“Y’all know I live for a good surprise😉 Went back to @goodmorningamerica @strahanandsara to surprise @kandi today💋,” Bailey explained of her unannounced appearance on the program.

Bailey’s remark about surprises stems from Kenya Moore surprising Bailey at her peach bellini beverage launch party, where she only told Burruss she was arriving before the singer headed inside the event. Bailey’s understanding was that Moore was not going to come, since the bash was being captured by Bravo cameras. As such, she failed to give Leakes any notice of Moore’s arrival, something Leakes later deemed “very sneaky and underhanded.”  According to the O.G. housewife, Bailey and Burruss “set me up.”

However, Burruss and Bailey have maintained the two did not conspire to set up Leakes in any sense.

“I have not been a part of any alliance,” Bailey said on the singer’s web show “Speak On It,” where Burruss also denied being in a union against Leakes. “Kandi would know if she was in an alliance. This is not ‘Big Brother,’ honey.”

“We definitely don’t sit around and talk about Nene,” Burruss added. “There is no alliance against you, Nene.”

Fans caught on to the reference and promptly made jokes about it, which Bailey embraced and laughed along with.

“It it is it a surprise or are you just acting like you wasn’t supposed to know 😎😎😎” one fan said, remarking on Bailey’s explanation for why she whispered to boyfriend Mike Hill, “I’m supposed to act like I didn’t know Kenya was coming” during the Seagram’s party.

Someone else wrote, “This damn alliance! 😂😂”

“Well did anybody get a heads up? 😭😭😭😭🤣” another said.
