The final part of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion aired Sunday night, and during the show, it was revealed that things got more physical between Nene Leakes and production than previously disclosed.
The heavily discussed “Bye Wig” party ended in Leakes grabbing a cameraman by his shirt when he went behind Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams to catch them in Leakes’ closet. The O.G. star of the Bravo series was adamant about Burruss and Williams not entering her closet, but admitted during a YouTube video that she got up when the cameraman went after them.
“My producer has gone against what I told him I did not want. He’s told the camera guy to go into the closet and film,” she explained in the March 4 video. “That’s how it escalated.”
Asked if she had any regrets over the incident during the reunion, Leakes said she had none aside from “all the cursing,” which she said was “the one thing I hated most when I watched it.”
Otherwise, the star was unbothered.
“It didn’t bother me,” she said. “It didn’t.”
While viewers saw Leakes pull the camera operator by his shirt in the March 3 episode, what wasn’t seen is that things apparently got more violent. Several of her co-stars mentioned the true damage Leakes allegedly did on the crew member.
“Well, him, but the other guy got choked up, scratched up, went to the hospital,” Williams said after Leakes said she “didn’t hit” the cameraman but simply “pulled his T-shirt.”
“Did he go to the hospital?” a surprised Leakes inquired. “I didn’t hear nothing about that.”
“He absolutely did and absolutely had scratches on his back,” Williams answered. “Choked up and head drug against the wall.”
“His tooth got knocked out,” Burruss added, her comment getting nods from Cynthia Bailey, Eva Marcille, Tanya Sam and Williams.
“I heard his tooth was cracked, but nonetheless, it didn’t give me the right to touch him,” Leakes acknowledged.
Still, Marcille took up for Leakes’ irritation that her closet was filmed despite her not wanting it to be on camera, saying “security grabbed Nene” after she yanked the cameraman by the shirt. However, Williams noted that only happened “after she choked the producer.”
“The producer that she choked up was [holding his hands up in the air], making sure that every move was on him from her,” the new mom added.
