Brittney Taylor Gives Her Explanation of What Led to Her Alleged Brawl With Remy Ma: ‘It Really Hurts’

The convoluted drama between rapper Remy Ma and her “Love and Hip Hop: New York” cast mate Brittney Taylor continues to unfold.

It was last reported that Ma, whose real name is Reminisce Smith, was under investigation by the New York Police Department for allegedly assaulting Taylor.

The two allegedly got into a heated verbal confrontation at Irving Plaza in the East Village, when the “Conceded” rapper was supposed to have socked the 29-year-old in her right eye, reportedly causing her to seek treatment at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital.

It was unclear as to what led to the “LHHNY” stars’ supposed squabble until Taylor broke her silence on what really happened.

On Friday, the “Pop Suttin” artist sat in her attorney’s office with the Daily News, explaining that the incident with Remy was a misunderstanding involving the rapper’s stepdaughter Dejanae. She claimed to have “defended” Remy’s stepdaughter from an abusive man who was beating her up while they were supposedly in Miami during spring break.

“What happened with me and Dej in Miami is I saved her—I saved her life, and [Remy] got aggressive [when Brittany told her at Irving],” Taylor said, insinuating that the 38-year-old mother became defensive when telling her what happened. “She was like, ‘That’s not what I heard,’ and she punched me in the face.”

The alleged fight between Taylor and Remy happened on April 16 around 9:30 p.m. at the Pretty Lou Charity Concert in New York City with rapper Fat Joe.

The “Hands Down” rapper has yet to be charged with any crime or arrested, but the NYPD reportedly is investigating the incident.

Attorney Sanford Rubenstein is representing Taylor.

“Brittney Taylor is cooperating fully with the NYPD criminal probe,” he said. “We are calling on any witnesses who saw what happened or have video of what happened to come forward.”

The “LHHATL” star accused Remy of setting a bad example for other women and young girls despite her own reputation of supposedly being “with the s–ts.”

“I just don’t feel like it’s okay for people to put their hands on someone that’s not being malicious to them, that’s being genuine,” she said. “She’s supposed to be someone with the status and power that she can use for good or bad. … She shouldn’t be punching someone — punching someone so hard in the face to the point that here we are four days later and my eye’s only getting worse. It really hurts.”

Remy nor any from her team has yet to comment on the matter. She’s reportedly still on parole after serving six years behind bars for shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the torso during 2007. If she’s found guilty of assaulting Taylor, she could return to prison.

The alleged crime has triggered a series of reactions from fans and supporters of both Remy and Taylor.

“Rémy needs to be investigated you don’t put your hands on ppl… she is a new mom when do you even have the time for this foh.”

“Aww mane brittney talk all that tuff sh*t but now she ratting wow.”

“All that Brittney was doing on LHH now she calling the law and crying on IG Sad!”
