The downward spiral of talk show host Wendy Williams continues as the star has reportedly relapsed on alcohol and checked out of a sober living home. The TV personality is said to have been found “in a bad way” after her show Monday, March 25, and the Daily Mail has the details.
The U.K. tabloid cited a source who dished that Williams’ supposed dip back into alcohol was triggered by her husband Kevin Hunter’s decade-long mistress Sharina Hudson reportedly giving birth to their baby girl on March 20.

Williams previously disclosed on her talk show that she had been staying in a sober living home “for some time now.” But the Daily Mail reported Tuesday, March 26, that things took a turn Monday afternoon after she filmed “The Wendy Williams Show.”
“She was in a bad way and disappeared from the studio after her show Monday,” the source said. “She went back to the sober house only to check herself out and decided to start drinking. It’s not clear where she went but she headed in the direction of her home in Jersey and managed to find alcohol along the way. Word got back to the studio and there was panic and concern, everyone was looking for her, no one knew whether there would be a show today. She was eventually found and was drunk, she was immediately taken to the hospital.”
Once there, Williams was treated with a banana bag — an IV full of vitamins and minerals — to help sober her up. Her 24-hour sober coach is the one who alerted Williams’ team to her issue.
“Wendy was in a bad way, so everyone was amazed that she made it into the studio this morning to do the show,” the insider said.
Williams, who had removed her wedding ring Monday evening when she was seen leaving the sober home, was able to tape Tuesday’s “Wendy” with no issue. She also slipped her wedding ring back on for work, but the Daily Mail source said she’ll take it off outside of the studio until she sorts out what to do.
Ditching her ring would be a bold step for Williams. She declared upon her return to the show earlier this month after a more than two-month absence that “I’m still wearing my ring.”
“Marriages have ebbs and flows, marriage isn’t easy. And don’t ask me about mine until you see this gone,” she added pointing to her wedding ring. “And it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime.”
However, the U.K. publication’s source says now, splitting up is on the table.
“Wendy is considering divorcing Kevin,” the insider claims. “She’s really distraught over the situation, she knew about Sharina but didn’t think a baby would arrive, she didn’t think Kevin would go this far, she’s lost and everyone is worried for her.”
Hudson reportedly gave birth at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Reports say Hudson was discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
The new report follows another from the Daily Mail last week which alleged Hunter’s refusal to call off his affair is what sent Williams back into her addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol.
