Wendy Williams’ Husband’s Refusal to End Affair with Mistress Is What Supposedly Spiraled Her Back Into Addiction, Report Claims

When Wendy Williams revealed on her talk show this week that she is living in a sober house the news stunned fans. Now, a new report alleges her husband’s ongoing affair with his longtime mistress has caused her to fall back into her addiction.

Williams candidly disclosed on her talk show Tuesday, March 19 that she is currently residing in a sober living facility after falling off the wagon.

“You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in the past. I never went to a place to get treatment. … There are people in your family, it might be you … I want you to know more of the story,” she tearfully told her studio and TV audience, later noting that she has a 24-hour sober companion.

Williams told Wendy Watchers only her husband and their son knew about her living situation. However, the Daily Mail reported Wednesday that the host came clean about her time away from the show mere hours after being reached for comment about being spotted staying overnight at a private facility run by the Pure Recovery Network in Queens to treat her addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs.

Despite Williams’ official reason for taking nearly two months off from her daytime talk show being related to treatment for Graves’ disease, the report from the U.K. publication alleges that is not the true reason. The Daily Mail, citing what it called an unnamed source close to family, says Williams confronted hubby Kevin Hunter late last year about his mistress Sharina Hudson after she hired a private investigator to spy on Hunter when the host suspected he’d been continuing his all-but-confirmed decade-long affair with Hudson.

“Don’t you dare humiliate me,” Williams allegedly told her husband of 20 years during the December 2018 encounter.

She reportedly demanded to know why Hunter was still seeing the massage therapist. Somehow, things resulted in Williams supposedly falling and hitting her shoulder on the ground, which resulted in a hairline fracture. The Daily Mail doesn’t detail exactly what led to the fall.

The confrontation is said to have caused her to become depressed and spiral back into her addiction to pills and alcohol as she recovered from her broken arm, which was in a sling while Williams appeared on-air in December slurring her words.

After announcing an extended break from “The Wendy Williams Show” that month, the Daily Mail reported Williams flew to Delray Beach, Florida. There she sought treatment at a luxury detox and rehab facility.

And as Williams was traveling to get well in her fight to stay above her long history of addiction (she’s disclosed she abused cocaine for a number of years in the past) her husband allegedly used time to carry on with his affair as he visited his wife in rehab.

The Daily Mail obtained photos of the pair cozying up together, including one where the two pose in sunglasses as they lounge on a sunbed. Hunter looks away as Hudson, who is also wearing a hat, chucks the duces and makes a kissy face at the camera.

Hudson joins Hunter whenever he goes on a trip with Williams, but she travels separately, the Daily Mail reported.

As for why Hunter won’t leave Williams despite ultimatums from his mistress to do so, the Daily Mail source claims Williams bankrolls his lifestyle.

“Kevin is in love with Sharina but he can’t leave his wife because he and Sharina can’t take care of themselves — they need her money,” the publication quoted its insider as saying.

That money has supposedly funded the $765,000, 3,900 home in Morristown, New Jersey that Hudson appeared to live in with Hunter before Hunter put it up for sale in November 2018. He’s since moved her into what a source described to the Daily Mail as “a very nice apartment in Manhattan he pays for.”

Williams’ reps have not responded to the report.
