When Wendy Williams returned to her show March 4, the host made it clear she was still going strong with her husband Kevin Hunter, and if there were any doubts, new photos helped drive her point home.
The host of “The Wendy Williams Show” was snapped out and about with Hunter on March 14 as the two took a stroll in New York City.
It’s the first time the pair have been photographed together since September 2018, when Hunter, who is also Williams’ manager, accompanied the star to Rockefeller Center for “Saturday Night Live.” Since then, the pair has been rocked by renewed rumors of Hunter’s allegedly on-going affair with Sharina Hudson and claims that he’s been abusive toward his spouse.
While Williams took an extended hiatus to regain control of her Graves’ disease earlier this year, reports emerged in January that Hunter had put a home he lived in with Hudson up for sale in November following a claim that he had impregnated her. Williams’ team denied the rumors and demanded the story, which was published on Love B. Scott, be retracted.
There have also been rumblings that Hunter has physically abused Williams. His estranged mother, Pearlet Hunter, told the National Enquirer in January that her son has harmed the host by “choking her, kicking her and punching her in the face.”
“I saw Kevin choking out Wendy! Another time, I witnessed him kicking the s— out of her and pushing her down the stairs,” Pearlet Hunter said of other abuse she claimed to have witnessed.
More claims of abuse emerged the following month when former employees of Williams spilled to Radar Online that they saw Hunter put his hands on his wife.
“In one instance, Mr. Hunter stormed into the studio, demanded that other employees leave and openly physically abused Ms. Williams, pinning her against the wall with his hand around her neck, choking her while repeatedly pounding his fist into the wall directly by her head,” a June 2008 lawsuit from an ex-radio show employee alleged.
Despite all the reports that her marriage is in trouble, however, Williams has maintained her union is fine despite any bumps they’ve hit along the way.
“I’m still very much in love with my husband,” she said in her return episode earlier this month.
“When you’ve been with somebody for 28 years, married for 25 years … we know each other. He is my best friend, my lover. He’s all this and he’s all that,” she continued after flashing her wedding ring. “Anybody who has been married for five minutes or 500 years, you know marriages have ebbs and flows. Marriages are not easy. And don’t ask me about mine until you see [my wedding ring] gone — it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime.”
Regardless of her on-air words and the new photos, fans remain unconvinced by the display.
