As Wendy Williams continues to take time off from her daytime talk show, a new rumor has emerged indicating her declining health may have been fueled by physical abuse from her husband.
Williams was originally due back in her purple chair on Monday, Jan. 21 but her return was pushed back once again over complications from Graves’ disease that will require “significant time” spent in the hospital.
Additionally, Williams is mending a fractured arm, the pain of which she had been treating with medication.

“I’ve never taken a pain medication in my life (except when I got snatched over 20 years ago) until this week. I did that to power through and try to deliver a great show for you, against the better judgment of the many people around me who genuinely care for my well-being,” she explained in part in a December statement as worries from her fans continued to mount.
However, a story from the current issue of the National Enquirer claims Williams has also been the victim of abuse from husband Kevin Hunter. And his own mother is allegedly spilling the beans.
Pearlet Hunter told the tabloid her son went after her daughter-in-law by “choking her, kicking her and punching her in the face.” She claims Williams helped her husband hide the abuse. However, Pearlet couldn’t keep quiet after fans began pointing out Williams was slurring her words on the December episodes of her show, where the host also began wearing a sling.
“I saw Kevin choking out Wendy! Another time, I witnessed him kicking the s— out of her and pushing her down the stairs,” Pearlet said.
The publication also alleges Williams “suffered horrendous physical abuse at the hands of her husband from hell, according to a former employee’s lawsuit!”
Such a bombshell likely wouldn’t sit well with Kevin, who is said to be estranged from his mother. He supposedly had a sit down with the staff of Williams’ show earlier this month to give them a talking to about slipping stories to the press.
“Kevin sat down the entire ‘Wendy’ staff on Monday morning,” a source told Radar Online. “Everyone thought Kevin was going to provide an update on Wendy’s health, but instead Kevin ranted for almost an hour about the leaks coming out of the show to the press.”
Such leaks included reports Hunter had placed two of the homes he shared with his rumored mistress up for sale in recent months. Kevin has long been rumored to have been cheating on Williams with Sharina Hudson for more than a decade and the latest rumor claims that he’s gotten her pregnant.
But despite ongoing reports of trouble in their marriage, Williams has made it clear to viewers and media alike over the years that she and her husband are fine.
