‘Black Ink Crew’ Fans Still ‘Pissed’ About Ceaser and Teddy’s Fight with Alex Ahead of Season Premiere

Although the season 7 of “Black Ink Crew” New York premieres on television on Wednesday, fans still haven’t forgot about the explosive fight that went down last season.

To refresh the memory of those who’ve forgotten, Ceaser Emanuel and his cousin Teddy Ruks were engulfed into a heated altercation with tattoo artists Alex Robinson and his girlfriend Donna Lombardi. Although Emanuel threw the first punch at Robinson, it was his cousin Ruks who sucker punched the tattoo artist from behind, causing Robinson to fall on his back.

The “Black Ink” manager received a wide array of backlash from angry fans who were mad about he and Emanuel jumped Robinson for no apparent reason. A few days after the controversial episode aired in December, Ruks, in a now deleted Instagram post, apologized to the tattoo artist for attacking him.

“To the Young Philly Man *You Know Who You Are…* I WAS WRONG AND I APOLOGIZE TO ALEX! You made me understand and I will do better for us. ✊🏿#blackinkcrew #love,” Ruks wrote.

However, his apology was shot down by Robinson for Ruks not personally calling him and apologizing, and Robinson appeared to challenge the manager and Emanuel to another scuffle.

“What nigga posts himself a pic of himself as a part of an apology to another nigga? … Niggas got my # coulda called for the one on but instead niggas wanted to jump me,” Robinson wrote. “I’M WITH ALL THE S–TS PERIOD 😤.”

Fast-forward to the upcoming season’s trailer, and Robinson is out for revenge against Emanuel and Robinson. In the trailer, he apparently learned that he may not be able to tattoo anymore due to a back injury he suffered from during last season’s confrontation.

Robinson isn’t the only one who’s still angry about Emanuel and Ruks’ starting the fight, “Black Ink” fans and viewers said they’ve lost all respect for the two cast-members.

“Cease you n Ted a pu–y ass nigga for sneaking Alex that f–k black ink 🖕🏽✌🏾🤮!”

“I lost a lot of respect for this show after this episode so I won’t be watching it this season✌️.”

“Ceasar and his cousin Teddy is a b–ch for jumping Alex! Someone is going to f–k them up💯 .”

“Teddy a straight B–ch for that, Cease no damn we Alex wasn’t there for problems and Ceas can’t fight!”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
