Who Wore It Best? Fans Have a Hard Time Choosing Whether ‘LHHNY’ Star JuJu or Kash Doll Won This Look

“Love and Hip Hop: New York” star JuJu Castaneda battled it out with rap diva Kash Doll with a recent fashion look.

Both celebs were spotted wearing the exact same red thigh-high wool boots with plaid designing from Y / Project. The shoes, which retail at $1,519, feature a Gothic grandeur style crafted from leather and red-and-green checked tartan wool.

Castaneda paired her boots with an olive-green camou jumpsuit from Zamar Lewis, embellished with leopard and plaid patching. She accessorized her ensemble with a black Chanel bag retailing around $1,490, gold plated-bracelets, a customized gold necklace with her name “JuJu” on it, and black Versace ove-sized sunglasses. She also opted for a full glam makeup look, including a bold cranberry lip. The reality star captioned the photo of herself, “Unapologetically Me 😎,” with the hashtags “#ChocolateCuban,” “#MelaninPoppin” and “#IssaLook.”

“Ice Me Out” rapper Kash Doll went for a more edgy yet chic look. She donned her Y/Project boots with a pair of black jeans from Fashion Nova and a Versace multi-colored bralette. She accessorized her attire with a plaid beret almost identically matching her shoes, oversized hoop earrings, a diamond-studded necklace, and a diamond ring and bracelet that spelled her name. She wrote in her Instagram caption, “When u have a Black Barbie Doll u play dress up.”

Fans went GaGa over both celebs’ fashion looks and spewed who they thought wore the boots best.

“Kash Doll did it better 😍 .. JuJu got too much patterns but still beautiful,” one Instagram user wrote.

“I love both but Kash set it off with the beret 😩!!” another user exclaimed, siding with Kash.

Others folks said Castaneda won the look hands down.

“Both ladies look good but ima have to give it to JuJu 😍,” said one fan.

Another added, “Hands down JuJu! I like Kash but JuJu took this one ❤️.”

A fence-sitter who was turned off by the styling of the boots voted “neither.”

“These boots are not it 😷👎. So imma go with neither.”

Castaneda, who’s been on “LHHNY” for almost five seasons, believes in staying fit and in shape to wear the fashions she desires. Since 2017, she opted to eliminate “all MEAT and processed foods, in conjunction with exercise” and lost a total of 21 pounds. Her main objective was to transition into a healthier lifestyle.

“I didn’t make this lifestyle change solely for my physical appearance,” Castaneda wrote on her Instagram in September 2017. “I made these changes for my overall better health.”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
