Sean “Diddy” Combs reached a settlement with his former personal chef Cindy Rueda, who filed a sexual harassment claim against him in 2017. She also accused the music mogul of not paying her for working long hours of overtime.
As reported, Rueda, who was employed by Combs from April 2015 to May 2016, said she would often work from 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Plus, she accompanied him on the road for two weeks stretches without getting anything outside of her $91,000 yearly salary.
Rueda claimed upon accepting the job that she told Combs that she couldn’t travel due to having small children that needed her close by.
She also alleged that Combs was often hostile towards her and created an uncomfortable work environment. And one time, according to an affidavit she signed, he yelled at her for showing up to work late and disturbing him and Gina Huynh, a woman he’s been romantically linked to.
“Can’t you see I have company?” she claimed Combs told her, as he swore.
Rueda then said after being instructed to do so, she brought Combs and Huynh breakfast in his private quarters and saw them having sex. In addition, she claimed his manager made sexual comments about her and mentioned something about her lips on one occasion.
According to NBC Southern California, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Allen initially didn’t accept Rueda’s case, because she signed a work contract that stated all employment disputes should be handled by arbitration. Her lawyers, however, said the contract was not only misleading, but the language heavily favored Combs.
But despite Judge Allen’s initial decision, on Tuesday (Feb. 19) Rueda’s lawyers revealed the case was settled but didn’t provide any details.
In 2017 when news of the suit surfaced, a rep for Combs referred to Rueda as a disgruntled employee, who was fired for just cause. But the reason she was let go was never revealed.
Rueda also sued Combs for wrongful termination.
