Nene Leakes has been keeping up with her “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast mate Kandi Burruss’ time on “Celebrity Big Brother,” but she’s been let down about how well the singer has been doing on the show.
Leakes spoke to “Entertainment Tonight” Sunday ahead of Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta and explained she initially thought Burruss would perform well. However, she’s noticed that Tamar Braxton is the one who may make it further.
“Kandi is very competitive. I felt like she would do really well,” Leakes told the entertainment news show Feb. 3. “Then, I caught an episode, and I saw Tamar, and I was like, ‘Well, looks like Tamar’s gon’ be the one doing well.’ I don’t know, it looked like Tamar was carrying her a little bit.”
Burruss and Braxton have been at odds at times in the “CBB” house. Braxton took issue with the way her tour guests were kicked out of a 2017 New Year’s Eve concert when the star joined Burruss’ group Xscape on tour. Her issues with Burruss led to a confrontation where Braxton accused her fellow singer of having it out for her. However, the two have been bonding as of late, discussing everything from raising children to the tasty food served up in Atlanta strip clubs.
But while Burruss manages to remain in the house, Leakes shot down any possibility of her being the next “RHOA” star to walk through those doors in another season.
“I was surprised that she went on the show, because they asked me to go on and I said no,” she disclosed. “I was surprised that Kandi took it. She is more of a game player than me. I’m not really that girl. I don’t want to be away from my phone and locked up and sleeping with people that I don’t know, because I didn’t know who I was going to enter the house with.
“You have to be in a room with other people and then the cameras are watching you except for when you are on the potty and in the shower,” the O.G. housewife continued. “They watch you brush your teeth, they watch you do a lot and I just don’t want them to watch me do everything. I don’t want to be watched.”
