Sean “Diddy” Combs isn’t doing too well right now, according to a new theory that’s hit the internet.
The Bad Boy founder posted a video of himself on Sunday (Jan. 27) and revealed a scruffy salt-and-pepper beard, which is a far different look that his usual groomed appearance.
“I want y’all to know now that I do this too,” said Diddy, showing off the facial hair. “I can hit you with this too. Scruff Puff.”
While some stated they like the new appearance, many said that Diddy looks unkempt, and it’s a sign that he’s suffering, which some might say isn’t a crazy opinion.
That’s because 2018 was a tumultuous year for the hip-hop mogul, whose net worth was estimated as $825 million by Forbes magazine last year. In October, he and his longtime girlfriend Cassie split, and she quickly started dating her fitness trainer Alex Fine, whom Diddy reportedly hired for her.
Then on Nov. 15 of last year, Diddy’s ex and mother of his twin girls Kim Porter passed away from pneumonia, and he’s shared some of his mourning on social media. In the video that displayed his new beard, the 49-year-old seemed jovial, yet people still expressed concern.
“I don’t think I’ve seen Puff with that much hair on his face, ever,” one fan wrote. “Dude must be going through it. Sending love and positivity your way.”
“Puff going through it, and he know it, but he don’t know it,” wrote another. “Puff get some rest @diddy … Take a month off, eat good, rest good, don’t run yourself into the ground champ.”
At the end of the beard video, Diddy sent love and his positive messages have been a common theme on his Instagram page since Porter passed away.
In fact, since his first post after Porter died, which he shared on Nov. 18, Diddy uploaded a total of 19 encouraging Instagram messages that all deal with such topics as strength, perseverance and self-growth.
