Atlanta artist and “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Waka Flocka proved he doesn’t mind shedding tears when it comes to his woman.
Flocka and his wife Tammy Rivera renewed their vows on Saturday, Jan. 19, in Mexico and had an extravagant beach wedding. The couple eloped five years ago, but they never had a traditional wedding ceremony until this past weekend.
Both Flocka and Rivera’s family and friends attended, and the couple appeared to be elated, especially the “Hard In Da Paint” rapper.
Flocka took to Instagram on Jan. 23, and shared a photo of himself bawling as his wife made her way down their wedding aisle. He expressed to fans how happy he was in the moment.
“Tears of joy!!! Tears of love!!!” he wrote in his Instagram caption. “Real men cry 🤣❤️@charliesangelll @tammiesangel #TheFlockas.”
Rivera reposted the emotional image of her husband on her social media and told her supporters, “[It] Don’t get more gangsta than this. … At this moment I knew I was a beautiful bride 👰🏽.”
Over 500,000 fans liked the Instagram image and commended Flocka for rebelling against the stigma that “real men” don’t cry.
“I love it when a man cries 😩❤️ when he sees his bride!!! That’s a real men,” one person expressed.
Another added, “A real man does this, you are truly a beautiful couple. 👏 Congratulations Precious moment right there 😍.”
“Tears of joy real man s–t! It’s such a blessing to find YOUR FOREVER smh. That’s beautiful @charliesangelll 💜💚💙. Wishing you both A LIFETIME of love, joy, peace, and happiness,” another added.
Flocka and Rivera agreed on having a lavish wedding after their five-year mark. The 31-year-old mother told People magazine on the day of their wedding, “Today my dream has come true. I am marrying my best friend and soulmate all over again. When God made Waka, he wrote my name beside his.”
Flocka also mentioned that he knew Rivera was the woman he was going to marry the day he met her. In an interview with Atlanta Black Star on Jan. 15, the rapper admitted that his wife changed him for the better.
“She helped me make better decisions, and that’s what I love about her,” Flocka said. “She became a friend. … She fought it out with me. … That’s my woman, it’s not for me to brag about or talk about.”
The couple currently star on We TV series “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition,” where they work on repairing their relationship woes. The couple split in 2016 due to Flocka’s affair with another woman, but they eventually reconciled.
