Fans immediately swooned over the star’s massive head of hair, which Moore disclosed is about 22 inches long and all natural without chemical straighteners.

“Yessss! It’s so thick and beautiful💯💯💯”

“Gone With The Wind Fabulous!! Keep On Twirling!! Enjoy!!!!”

“Beautiful natural hair.”

While the star had lots of fans fawning over her tresses, some people chimed in to claim that her volume wasn’t all due to pregnancy.

“@thekenyamoore that’s not true… after birth a lot of women do lose hair.”

“@thekenyamoore not true, unfortunately a lot of women have lost their hair, mines got thinner.”

“That’s not true, some women hair falls out, not all women hair grows. Everyone pregnancy is different @thekenyamoore.”

However, Moore responded that her doctor informed her that women don’t shed hair while expecting.

“@mcceng_das1 my doctor told me and it is a fact. You lose 50-100 hairs per day. While pregnant you don’t. Therefore, your hair will naturally be thicker from not losing hair. #thatisall.”

Mary Jane Minkin, M.D., clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale Medical School, told Women’s Health that increased estrogen levels during pregnancy contribute to women having a fuller head of hair. But upon giving birth estrogen levels drop. Minkin suspects that a decrease in the hormone contributes to post-pregnancy hair shedding.

Although being with child undoubtedly contributed to Moore’s current volume, the star has always had naturally thick hair.

On Instagram in 2016, she said that keeping the ends of her hair protected helps her retain length. She also credited the use of her hair care line for helping her gain two inches of length.

“#MooreHairCareMondays my hair continues to grow because I take great care of it using my own hair care products #KenyaMooreHairCare . It’s affordable luxury that repairs, reforms, and strengthens your natural hair. The #KenyaMooreHairCareGrowthSerum is essential to use daily during the winter months. Protect your ends and your hair will show length.”
