Jennifer Williams treated fans to a throwback photo of her time growing up in Newark, N.J., but things went a little left when a commenter drummed up her past food stamp dig at Tami Roman.
“#TBT High school dayzzzz with my full length shearling!!! You couldn’t tell me sh*t until I got robbed smh 🙊 #Jersey,” Williams said on Instagram Thursday, Dec. 20, of her time as a student at Newark’s Columbia High School.

It wasn’t long before viewers tied it to a comment she made to Roman on season 2 of “Basketball Wives” when she explained why she had never seen food stamps.
“When I went to middle school, my father picked me up in a Porsche,” she shouted at Roman, who was previously part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, during a 2011 fundraiser. “I came from f—ing middle class. … Because I came from that means I’m not ghetto.”
The remark would later be brought up again on season 7.
As such, one user said the photo of Williams in her teen days reminded them of her comment about SNAP.
“Lol looking at this picture just reminds me of the foodstamp card episode 💅🏾,” user @therealshawna said, prompting Wiliams to laugh and reply.
“@therealshawna blame my parents 🤣🤣🤣,” she said.
And it wasn’t just the one user. Others referenced the moment, too, noting her less-than-humble beginnings.
