Faith Evans Gifts Stevie J a Benz and Fans Shade Joseline Hernandez and Mimi Faust

Faith Evans gave her husband Stevie J a brand new car for his birthday and fans praise her as the “right woman.” Last Thursday, the couple’s fan page shared a video of Stevie walking outside to see his new black Mercedes Benz with a big red bow on it.

In the video, he said, “My wife does something like this for my birthday. I never ever got anything like this for my birthday.” The fans left comments subliminally shading women from his past relationships such as Mimi Faust and Joseline Hernandez.

“Thats the best FEELING in life when somebody finally finds someone that will treat them and appreciate them the way they have always done others finally playing fair.”

“I love y’all love Stevie you look so much happier. No stress no drama. Take care of each other.”

“Thats what ur queen do for her king that’s true love..”

“This is what happens when you get with a real woman! she separates herself from the girls.”

“That’s what happens when you Marry a girl with Class it’s about time Stevie she is classy and beautiful and a legend.”

“He needed a strong woman on his side to make him a better man and that’s wassup… love love love”

Evans and Stevie tied-the-knot earlier this year in July. Although their marriage is fresh, they haven’t been really getting much support from fans. One fan said, “I’m just still not buying this relationship yet… ya’ll be great tho.” Another fan said, “Married by yet neither has rings on fake like Joseline and Stevie marriage. This marriage is a fake😂.”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
