Garcelle Beauvais apologized for posting a photo of herself kissing Will Smith.
She did it for the actor’s 50th birthday and used a picture from the 1999 film “Wild Wild West.” Afterwards, people blasted her for it and said she wasn’t considering Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
“You’re disrespectful as hell,” one person wrote on Beauvais’ Instagram page. “Don’t post yourself kissing someone’s husband to wish him a happy birthday.”
“She messy,” someone else commented. “Why would she even post that pic?”
At first, Beauvais responded to the backlash playfully by tweeting “Bring it,” but then she removed the photo and said sorry.
“Okay guys, it was supposed to be a funny post,” she wrote. “My bad if I offended anyone. If you are my followers you know I’m all about lifting up people and being a positive human being. I made a mistake. Have a beautiful blessed day.”
But some still criticized the 51-year-old.
“Girl, you knew what you were doing and knew it was disrespectful,” one person wrote. “Nothing funny about it.”
“She was just being trashy,” wrote another.
There were others, however, who thought coming at Beauvais was ridiculous.
“You didn’t make a mistake,” someone commented. “Some people just have no life and like to feed off and create unnecessary drama.”
“She has the right to post whatever she wants on her account, just like everyone does on their own account,” another person wrote. “We can’t micro-shame everyone for everything just because they don’t move according to our philosophical patterns.”
So far Will and Jada have remained silent on all this.
