Actress Sanaa Lathan recently spoke up about what she claims were her unpleasant experiences and moments with Hollywood A-list actresses who treated her unkindly.
During a press tour in New York for her Netflix film “Nappily Ever After,” Lathan discussed the ill treatment she received from several Hollywood women in the entertainment business.
“Just coming up in the business, I have been treated just horribly by some women that you may know,” the 47-year-old said last week in New York at the premiere of her New film.
“I won’t call any names. But when you’re working with somebody who’s maybe a little older than you — now I’m the older one — you don’t expect to get competition, and jealousy, and weird vibes on set. And I was very hurt, very early on in my career by a couple of different women.”
Lathan has been in the entertainment business for more than 20 years and first appeared on television in 1995 on shows “In the House” and “Moesha.”
The actress received major backlash after comedian Tiffany Haddish confirmed in June that it was Lathan who allegedly bit Beyoncé at a party. The “Love and Basketball” actress rebutted the rumors during an interview with “The Talk” in July.
“Me and my friends, we laughed our a**es off. We thought it was funny. I mean, it was so absurd,” said Lathan. Earlier, when the rumor first broke, she had taken to Twitter and written, “Y’all are funny. Under no circumstances did I bite Beyonce and if I did it would’ve been a love bite 💋.”
