How Bethenny Frankel May Have Led Ex-Friend Carole Radziwill to Exit RHONY

“The Real Housewives of New York” star Carole Radziwill is exiting the Bravo series after falling out with former friend Bethenny Frankel.

Radziwill, who joined the show in season 5, revealed the news in a statement to People magazine Wednesday, July 25 saying she was “thrilled” to have frienemies be left in the past.

“After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONY, I have decided to return to what I do best — journalism and producing,” Radziwill said. “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind. My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament.

“I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind,” Radziwill added. “I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy. Next.”

Raziwill also posted a memo on her Instagram page, which said, “Didn’t change, just learned.” It’s a call back to what Frankel had told her in the episode that aired last week: “You’ve changed.”

Her exit follows the apparent end to her friendship with Frankel who clashed with the journalist after her photographer ex-boyfriend, Adam Kenworthy, reportedly refused to photograph her charity efforts for Houston without compensation.

When the episode aired, Radziwill learned the full extent of Frankel’s issues with her ex and fired off on a Bravo blog post about the matter writing, “As a woman, it makes me sad to watch another woman, who I thought was my friend, talk behind my back with such cattiness and disrespect.”

After Raziwill’s announcement, fans fired off about what they thought about the casting shakeup.

“Happy dance!! Carole Radziwill is leaving #rhony!!!! I couldn’t be happier. I can watch the remainder of this season knowing that and enjoy it FINALLY!!!”

“I am super disappointed about this. Carole is one of the FEW actually intelligent housewives with any real substance.”

“Oh no…. you mean we won’t have to hear about running the marathon, or Adam, or her writing an article for Cosmo?!?!?! How ever will we manage 😒

“Most BORING ‘housewife’ EVER, not just for #RHONY but of ANY RH! Ugh. My carpet is more interesting.”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
