R&B songstress Tamar Braxton had choice words for folks who once doubted her as an artist and who are now doubting her family’s viability as stars of a reality TV show.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the “Braxton Family Values” co-star took aim at an unnamed network who she accused of drumming up drama between her and her sisters in an effort to compete with the wildly popular Vh1 reality series “Love & Hip-Hop.” Braxton’s clapback comes just days after news that her family halted production of their hit WeTV reality show amid contractual issues and demands for higher pay.

“It’s so funny how you see yourself then and how it parallels to now,” the singer/songwriter wrote, recalling the time a music executive told her she was too fat and how it continues to impact her body image today.

” … The same goes for me and my sisters,” she added. “We STARTED having major, OVER THE TOP family issues because some network wanted to compete with old ‘Love and Hip-Hop numbers and felt that our family was too ‘perfect’ and un-relatable — only to realize our problems are JUST like everyone else’s.”

Braxton went to declare that “this BLACK FAMILY IS JUST FINE THE WAY IT IS,” before noting that “Braxton Family Values” is the longest-running reality TV show featuring a Black family “EVER in history.”

“I say all this to say that people will try to turn you into whatever they want you to be for their benefit!” she concluded. “When are you going to be who YOU truly are for your OWN benefit? We put ourselves through hell to be however someone else sees’s us..how about if you are going to work at something, WORK ON YOU FOR YOU and have the faith that GOD made you this way on purpose!”
