Snoop Dogg thinks a lot of Kanye West’s recent controversy could have been avoided if he had a Black wife.
The MC indicated that West’s statements about slavery being a “choice” and his support for Donald Trump — which West’s wife Kim Kardashian defended by saying her husband was a “free thinker” — could have been shut down if Kim K weren’t white.
“I hate to be Black and white, [but] there’s no Black women in his life,” Snoop says on “The Breakfast Club Friday, May 18. “Let’s just keep that 100. That’s real, man. I got aunties that’ll pull up with them big ol’ church hats on: ‘N—-, what’s happening? What you on, nephew? You bulls—-ing. We taught you way better than that.’ It got to a point where it was, like, it was funny then it got sad.”
Snoop added that with Ye’s mother Donda West out of his life since her death in 2007, his spirit hasn’t been the same. But Snoop said the women around him — aka the Kardashian clan — should get some help from stronger women to assist West.
While that help doesn’t seem to have arrived yet, Snoop speculated about why Tha Dogg Pound rapper Daz Dillinger urged the Crips to go after West last month. The thought was that it had to do with Daz’s relation to Snoop, who had been posting memes about West’s relationship with Trump. Or it had to do with West namedropping the gang in “Ye Vs. the People.”
“You can’t take everything serious, some s— is just done to be done,” Snoop says. “Social media rubs certain people the wrong way. And that’s the effects of it.
“Like, Charlemagne [Tha God] is my n—-, that’s my dog,” Snoop adds, readying an example illustrating his Daz situation. “Now, if me and Charlamagne get into it and it looks like we really serious, he may have some n—-s with him that be like, ‘Man, f— Snoop Dogg. And then, he gotta clear the s— up and be like, ‘Nah, N—- we was just on the radio … having a radio argument … and then it becomes this n—- on social media [saying] ‘F— Snoop Dogg, n—-, you shouldn’t have did Charlamagne [like that].’ Now, hold on. Charlamagne didn’t even approve of that.”
