Today, March 9 marks the 21rst anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.’s death, and a lot of folks have taken to social media to honor him.

To this day, no one has been charged in the killing, although there were numerous witnesses on the scene and a lot of information released, especially by the late LAPD detective Russell Poole.

As it’s been widely reported over the years, the Brooklyn rapper was shot and killed after leaving a party hosted by Vibe magazine at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. At the time, he was sitting in the passenger side seat of a Chevrolet Suburban while it was parked at a red light, just yards away from the venue.

In the end, Biggie was shot four times and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a little after 1:00 a.m. PST.

All day today, celebs and fans have shared heartfelt words about the legendary rapper and some like Diddy posted photos. Of course, it was Puff who signed the gifted wordsmith to his Bad Boy Record label, and he was also in the vehicle behind him when the fatal shots rang out.

Biggie’s ex-wife Faith Evans posted something as well, a clip of The Notorious B.I.G. performing on stage. The footage was taken from the 1995 hip-hop documentary “The Show,” which featured some of the prominent rappers of that era.

Da Brat, who worked with Biggie on the song “Da B Side,” also expressed her feelings on social media. “Missin’ my dude,” she simply wrote and posted a photo of herself and the beloved rapper.

CeeLo Green had something to say too. “On this day I’m honoring the life of a king,” he stated.

But most of the tributes came from fans, who said all kinds of nice things about the “Juicy” creator. “Still missed. Still in demand. Still sampled. Still the king,” one person wrote.

“Over 20 years since Biggie left us and hardly a day goes by without one of his songs on my playlist,” wrote another. “I can’t imagine how different the hip-hop landscape would be if he were still here.”
