Jill Scott’s nasty divorce drama continues and in a cruel twist of fate, she’ll spend the day after Valentine’s Day dealing with it.
The “Black Lighting” actress’ Estranged husband, Michael Dobson, is requesting $500,000 from her, according to the New York Daily News, and a judge will decide on that Thursday, Feb. 15 in a Tennessee court. Friends, who spoke on Dobson’s behalf since a non-disclosure agreement has put an end to him speaking out on the divorce, say the money is all about principle.
“He’s not going to let Scott disgrace him,” said an insider. “Michael still loves Jill. He has always felt like she’s his ‘ride or die’ throughout their relationship.”
Yet Dobson is seeking a payout and claims the prenuptial agreement, which the couple signed ahead of their private June 2016 nuptials, isn’t valid. The reason? Dobson said portions of the document were incorrectly filled out.
This is the latest development in the divorce between the “Golden” singer and her husband. In November, Dobson called her “an evil woman” after she cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” in the filing. Dobson denied he ever harmed her and she later received a restraining order against him. He then issued a response and vowed to stop publicly speaking negatively about his soon-to-be-ex-wife.
