Jill Scott’s divorce drama is getting even uglier. The singer has been granted a restraining order against Mike Dobson the same day she filed to end their marriage.
The Sept. 15 order, Bossip reported Tuesday, Nov. 7, means neither party can stalk, harass or threaten the other or trash talk their soon-to-be ex in front of their children. Scott has an 8-year-old son, Jett, with an ex-fiancé and she told Essence in August that Dobson had “blessed my life with five more children.”
Other caveats include the inability to hide or destroy computer files and hide assets from the union. The order also dictates Scott and Dobson need the court’s permission to spend money extravagantly. When they do, they’ll need to provide receipts for their purchases, which the other party may request to see.

The restraining order follows Scott’s citing of “inappropriate marital conduct” along with “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filing. Dobson told Bossip he has never physically or sexually assaulted his wife of 15 months.
“She likes to have men that she can control,” he said Tuesday. “You’re not gonna control me. What’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong.”
The nasty split is far cry from the public affection Scott displayed for Dobson at a performance last August, which came just two months after their quiet nuptials.
“Shout out to my man for ironing my clothes today,” she said according to Essence. “He’s my partner and holds me down.”
