Comedian Steve Harvey kicked off his first New Year’s Eve special on Fox with some controversy. The talk show host braved the bitter cold in Times Square Sunday, Dec. 31 and became the focus of Twitter for a few reasons. But the most divisive reason came when he complimented three young Black boys.
“Three little Black dudes singing the song better than all the white people I know!” he exclaims after the kids’ performance.
The comment caught the attention of many conservative viewers who didn’t appreciate the remark, which they deemed “racist.”

#SteveHarvey Please don't open your mouth to complain about Steve Harvey making a racist remark, when you haven't open your mouth about the Fox Network for years making racist remarks. What you should ask yourself, did Steve lie.

But Harvey’s race-related remark wasn’t the only thing that made him a popular discussion topic on Twitter. Folks also took the time to poke fun at his white ensemble.

steve harvey has on that "maid in manhattan"/"scandal," double-breasted, cashmere trench and a matching hat, looking like the archangel of black deacons.
he looks like he's gonna take that coat off, walk right into your kitchens, and stir those greens y'all been cooking all day.

#Fox told Steve Harvey no fur. So, Steve stylist "pimped" him in a woman's trench coat instead. The vision was really this… #NYEonFOX #NewYearsEve2017 #SteveHarvey pic.twitter.com/sQOMBfgDhg
