Fans were bummed to hear FX’s “Atlanta” won’t return for a second season until 2018, but now, it seems they’ll have to wait even longer. Actor Lakeith Stanfield, who plays Darius on the hit series co-created by and starring Donald Glover, has been teasing — and confusing — fans about the premiere date
After initially writing in a caption confirming the end of filming for season 2 that it will debut in February 2018, Bustle reported it has been edited several times. Apparently, the caption mentioned everything from April 2018 to some time in 2020 as prospective launch dates. It now claims the second installment will be Jan. 2019.

Fans have taken notice of the changes and questioned why Stanfield keeps toying with their emotions in his Instagram comments.

On Twitter, one user was skeptical over the proposed Feb. 2018 launch.
No way Atlanta S2 is coming in February. FX hasn't even started marketing it.

“Atlanta” season 1 wrapped in November 2016 and fans have been eager to hear about the next season ever since. Once it was renewed, followers learned they’d have to wait until 2018 to see what Earn, Alfred and Darius are up to. Glover’s commitments to the Han Solo “Star Wars” spin-off has held up the series, but he assured BBC Radio 1 in August that it is worth the wait.
“It’s almost ready,” he said. “I’m pretty happy with a lot of the things and I think it’s better than the first season. It’s almost there. You’ll just have to wait a little longer.”
