  1. John Lewis says:

I think that was more confusing than Raven's interview….

  2. Sundiata Keita says:

larry king is still alive? holy shit!
anyway, it don't matter what he say, they got out of his 3rd strike so he could help whites steal rap.

  3. Lisa R. Brown says:

I don't think it was confusing at all. He said African American is what he was taught to call himself, but also said he was black. The point he made about people having different ways of seeing themselves and negotiating that "self" (my interpretation) in the world, was most enlightened and appropriate.

  4. I think even with her saying shes an American she is still contradicting what she said. she said she didn't want to be known as an african american but as an american? she is still putting herself in a category alone as being an american why not a organism? person? human like everyone else? no because shes trying to escape the fact that she is black, not the fact shes an organism or a person, everyone is a human being so why just say that. she a self hating person that's why.

  5. Excellent points Dominique Roberts!

  6. Black people was native to America , some came before Columbus ,,, long established themselves in America and had kids with the asiatics to produce Indians ,,, still there were black skinned Indians in America ,,, so that's why not african American … That's what Raven was saying

  7. James Harris says:

He sounds just as dumb as her, talking about African American is an attempt to separate us, but we're made to be different. Be yourself and stop trying to sound intellectual because that makes you sound ignorant.

  8. James Harris says:

It was contradiction and that's why he stuttered when Larry asked the question lol

  9. Nixon Manuel says:

    You're right. It's true.

  10. Alfred Norman says:

American Police are the violent in the world. Mercilessly killing young black boys/men.

  11. Amonne Brown says:

I'm not supporting anymore so called black entertainers unless they representing black, supporting black, buying black & love being a black African! Fuck T I and the rest of these sell-outs that are bought & paid for! Black power

  12. Sedrick M. Lewis says:

Raven is running from her self esteem she has put on this mask of fame and was once apart of the social highacrhy that's fleeting. Which most African American do I.E. Mr Barkley that tells them I'm better then what then my other African counterparts are , not knowing that the bigotry follows you there too. So in order to fit in which you will never do , you bash your people and or say I'm something else entirely I don't know what the heck T.I. was fake talking about trying to sound intelligent making himself look like an ass. Cause let's be honest he's doing the same thing just in a different way

  13. There is a difference between race and nationality, your nationality is the nation you were born in or the one you claim(American). Race is a term that denotes genetically different human populations defined by phenotype(African). We've been mis-educated about who we are that's why some of us don't want to be African. The original people of the planet and you ashamed. "Man Know Thyself"

  14. King Lux Lxi says:

Raven knows her history… period point blank. Africans were here in Americas before the red man who came from the mix of traveling tribes. So in due process the true Americans are blacks and Indians. White distorted the history by lending them selves the true owners of America. You have to understand at one point in time there was no such thing as a white man period. Only us… the people and races you see today are all mutations of us… black people. The original Man….

  15. King Lux Lxi says:

African American is a term of separation. Saying that you are a African first not a American… that leaves in America. He is actually brilliant… and your ignorance is not justified. We are made to be one human race not off difference and understand, but to be one functioning family to undertake the car off the planet. Not what the white man has developed us to be… as industrial profits of resources.

  16. James Harris says:

King Lux Lxi Lol…you sound as smart as him, so what are you classified as?

  17. King Lux Lxi says:

They don't know their own history and that's the saddest part.

  18. King Lux Lxi says:

John Bandilearo Bogle is the only one spitting facts… no bullshit.

  19. John Lewis says:

I doubt if Raven had any knowledge of blacks existing in America before Europeans even though we know that they did, but her answer didn't tie into any of that knowledge, she dated her statement back to her parents being in Louisiana I believe, she never mentioned their original origin…I see it as her wanting to dis-associate with anything African because we'very been conditioned as a society to deem Africa as inferior….

  20. James Harris says:

King Lux Lxi do you realize that Milton is not saying the same thing as you? Milton is right.

  21. King Lux Lxi says:

Stop being technical and pay attention… he simple said words don't mean shit him. I simply stated your wrong…

  22. larry king is like an eternal dragon or something. He's been around since the conception of mankind, him and morgan freeman both are freaking guardians of the earth.

  23. When are they going to allow blacks to own land like they did the native Americans why are we still out the loop why are we still battling this fight on a land we built

  24. Michele Robson Steinmann says:

She's not trying to "escape the fact that she is black." I share her sentiment. I may be culturally black, but to keep things in perspective, my Nigerian neighbors are African American and I actually envy that. My most recent African relative died before my most recent White one and my most recent Native American one. I don't go around telling everybody people I'm multi racial because I identify as black. But, the reality is, I am not African. I'm Black. Period. You ask an Africans if they think us American blacks are also Africans and be prepared to get your feelings hurt. You'll find out that you aren't actually African. It had to be said.

  26. Michele Robson you may identify with raven and envy Africans but I don't, to each is own. What I know is if it wasn't for my decedents they would not be able to set foot here in America and reap the benefits from my great uncles, aunts, mothers, and fathers fought so hard for. Many Africans automatically put black Americans in this box.I myself learned from experience dating an African man many of the women do not like black American women so I dare not envy what or be hurt at what all Africans have to say about black Americanscreen period because when it's all said and done when they get here they would still experience the backlash of being a person of color point blank.

  27. Michele Robson Steinmann says:

Dominique Roberts Yeah, they do hate us. My dad lives in Germany and runs into Africans all the time. They always end up having "the talk." You know, the one where they explain that American blacks have no history, no culture, etc. When I say I envy them, that's not to say I wish I was African. Rather, its an acknowledgment of how disappointed I am with the obvious missing links that connect me to my ancestors. Besides my black skin, what else makes me belong to Africa, or is that enough? I don't think so. I'm not African American. I'm a black American. That's has to be good enough for those of us in that boat- no pun intended.

  28. I goto school with Africans and we sometimes talk about the African culture and they would be upset about some of the things that happen in their country, then the African men I have conversations with say they don't date African women they rather date black american women idk what's the difference but Im like ok

  29. Johnny DamtheGov Clark says:

Both TI and Raven are descendants of the house negro tribe.

  30. Michele Robson Steinmann Your and idiot, first off your not a color. You can play with all the titles and tells us stupid shit about what "all Afrikans" think, but you are and always will be and Afrikan.

  31. James Harris He's another negrobotic clown in training.
