Halle Berry Loses Child Support Battle, Ordered to Pay $16,000 a Month

Actress Halle Berry is taking a financial hit as she comes out on the losing end of her long-lived child-support battle with ex-lover Gabriel Aubrey.

In what many people considered to be a shocking decision, on May 30 a judge ordered Berry to cough up $16,000 a month for child support.

Court documents revealed that both Halle and her ex have equal custody of  6-year-old daughter Nahla, but Halle will still be handing over some serious cash until Nahla turns 19 or finishes high school.

In addition to the monthly child support, the X-Men actress will have to pay Aubrey $115,000 in retroactive support, plus $300,000 for his attorney’s fees.

Meanwhile, the pair will continue to co-parent their little girl despite the drama of the past.

In 2012, the family’s happy Thanksgiving holiday turned ugly when Aubrey and Berry’s then-fiancé, Olivier Martinez, had a nasty confrontation.

The brawl outside of Halle’s home left Olivier’s hand in bandages for a few days, while Gabriel sported bruises and a broken rib.

More co-parenting drama broke out when Berry wanted to move to France to protect her little girl from aggressive paparazzi.

The veteran actress has remained at odds with the paparazzi after they stalked Nahla outside her daycare.

Images of Berry yelling and charging at the cameramen went viral almost immediately and helped fuel the push for tighter restrictions on the paparazzi’s access to children.

During that time, however, Aubrey insisted that Halle leave her daughter in America or stay put as a family.

He claimed that it would be financially difficult for him to travel to see his daughter in another country all the time.

The former lovers managed to reach an agreement on the child custody issues in 2012.
