Lauryn Hill in More Tax Trouble?

Nearly six months after being released from federal prison for tax evasion, Lauryn Hill has reportedly been slapped with a batch of liens from the Internal Revenue Service totaling nearly $867,000.

The Grammy-winning singer was served with seven separate liens, according to RadarOnline. The IRS claims that in 2005, Hill, a South Orange resident, failed to pay $422,008.26. For 2006, Hill reportedly owes $19,838.75; 2007, $61,158.50; 2008, $58,405.71; 2009, $30,370.91; 2010, $13,247.73; and 2011, $261,838.19 — a total of $866,868.05.

Hill was released from federal prison October 2013 after serving three months for failing to pay taxes on $2.3 million in income over five years.

Days after being released, the eight-time Grammy Award winner was granted permission to delay her house arrest sentence to go on tour. U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Madeline Cox Arleo signed the order allowing the postponement of Hill’s year of supervised release, which includes three months of home confinement.

Hill’s lawyer could not be reached for comment.
