rihanna tattoo 1While on her Diamond’s world tour, Rihanna who proclaimed she’s grown bored of partying, found something else to fill the void – more tattoos. The Bajan beauty who has over 19 tattoos, added another to her collection during a stop in New Zealand.

According to Entertainmentwise.com:

“Rihanna visited famous tattoo artist Inia Taylor at the Moko Ink studio in West Auckland earlier this week where she treated herself to the traditional Ta Moko tattoo but it wasn’t inked with the typical needle RiRi is used to as the tatt was hammered on with a chisel, ink pigment and a mallet.”

A description on the studio’s website explains the tribal print: “Moko Ink is the worlds first Maori Tattoo Studio specializing in the contemporary use and creation of traditional Maori and Polynesian Tatu.”

A video of the very painful process was posted on the company’s YouTube page, where you can see a very composed, even jovial, Rihanna turning away as the tattoo artist pounds away at her hand.
