Lamar Odom‘s charge of suspicion of DUI has been upgraded to a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence. On Friday the court charged the free agent NBA player for an incident which happened nearly two weeks ago, when he was pulled over on a San Fernando Valley freeway.
The Los Angeles city officals said the charge was due to Odom’s Aug. 30 arrest in the San Fernando Valley, when he was taken into custody and refused to take a sobriety test.
The California Highway Patrol said Odom’s Mercedes-Benz was spotted traveling in a “serpentine manner.”
If convicted, Odom faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. His arraignment for the charge is scheduled for Sept. 27.
Odom, who spent the NBA season with the the Los Angeles Clippers last year, became a free agent at the end of the season.
