The Les Miserables and X-Men superstar, Hugh Jackman, was cast in his first new role since his Oscar nomination. The actor was just cast in Paramount’s newest project Six Years, based on a novel by New York Times Bestselling author, Harlan Coben. Jackman, a man of many talents, is certainly in high demand these days, so Six Years must be something special.
You probably haven’t heard of Coben’s latest book because it just hit bookstores today. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the novel focuses on Jake Fisher who watches the love of his life, Natalie, marry another man, Todd. Six years later, Fisher is still madly in love with his former flame and stumbles upon Todd’s obituary. Fisher attends the funeral in hopes of catching a glimpse of Natalie, only to discover Todd’s grieving widow was not Natalie, nor was Todd ever married to her. This revelation causes Fisher to question all of his memories with Natalie and uncover where – and who – she really is.
While Coben’s past five novels have debuted at #1 on the NY Times Best Seller list, he’s only had one of his books made into a movie. His novel Tell No One was made into a French film back in 2006. Supposedly Warner Brothers and Ben Affleck are on board to create a remake of Tell No One, but until then we’ll have to wait and see how Jackman does in Coben’s other novel adapted movie.
