Usher has put his $3 million Georgia home on the market, leaving his ex-wife Tameka Foster virtually homeless.
According to TMZ, Usher is selling the home for $3.2 million, a slightly higher price than what he paid for the massive home. The “Confessions” crooner bought the house in 2007, when he and Foster were still married. Usher has allowed Foster to live in the house for the past few years and per their divorce agreement, he can sell the house whenever he wants, as long as he gives his ex-wife 60 days notice.
According to TMZ, Usher sent Foster a letter in September to warn her that he would be selling the house and at the time, she didn’t take the news well because she didn’t have any income.
According to sources close to Foster, her feelings have changed. The insiders say she has a small business and is unfazed by the impending move. That may be hard for some to believe, considering the impressive amenities in the 12, 544 square foot mansion. The house comes with 6 bedrooms, 7 baths, 10-foot ceilings, an outdoor pool, in-home gym, 4 fireplaces and a library.
The selling of this sprawling mansion is the latest addition to the saga surrounding Usher and his ex-wife. The couple had a messy divorce back in 2009, followed by a messy child custody battle that ended this year when Usher was granted full custody of their sons, 3-year-old Naviyd and 4-year-old Usher V.
Foster shared her feelings about the arrangement in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Be a good example for your boys and make sure the things you do are from your heart and not someone else’s,” she pleaded to her ex in the interview.
Foster suffered a tragic loss this year when her 11-year-old son Kile died after being injured in a jet-skiing accident.
