Rihanna has gotten over being beaten by Chris Brown but there are some folks down in Guyana that haven’t and they’re trying to stop the R & B crooner from coming to their country. Brown is scheduled to perform in Guyana on December 26 and if some Guyanese activists have their way, it won’t happen.
“As if life in Guyana could not get more bizarre, we read that the Government of Guyana as part of its mission to promote tourism is bringing Chris Brown to Guyana. Chris Brown gained additional notoriety for his attack on his girlfriend, Rihanna,” said a letter from Save Guyana. “Chris Brown, like many of the men who brutalize women in Guyana, did not do any jail time for this action. In Guyana, the Government and the Private Sector cannot provide funding to sustain the domestic violence programs needed to rehabilitate men like Chris Brown.”
Other activists argue that if Brown is allowed to perform proceeds from the show should go to domestic violence organizations and are against tax dollars being used to fund the concert. Oddly enough, Brown’s performance is during 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based violence, a Guyanese effort to raise domestic violence awareness.
This looks like it could be a serious issue but Brown seems to be too busy hanging out with recent ex Karrueche Tran to address the issue. Tran and Brown were spotted together in Beverly Hills while he was in town for a photo shoot. According to E! News, Tran did the styling for the shoot. However, it wasn’t all business according to a source close to the pair. “They are hooking up, but they are not dating exclusively,” said the source. “They just started back up again. Rihanna and Chris are also hooking up. It’s all a bit of a mess, but it’s a dynamic that has been going on for a while. Everyone thought Chris and Karrueche were completely done, but he’s one of those people that everyone is drawn to. Plus he’s selfish and he has a way to make people do things the way he wants them done.”
Meanwhile, the other part of the love triangle is facing a bizarre lawsuit from a “Chris Brown imposter” according to TMZ. The unnamed man has filed a $10 million lawsuit claiming Rihanna gave him herpes to punish him. He has also filed a restraining order against the “Diamonds” singer. “[Rihanna] gave me herpes and then when I threatened to file a lawsuit against her for not telling me she was infested with genital blisters she began to hit herself in the face and throw herself into walls just as Jim Carrey did in the movie ‘Liar, Liar,” the man said in his lawsuit. “Then she turned around and blamed me for the matter as a form of punishment.”
He is also accusing Rihanna of giving him a stronger strain of herpes. “I woke up with three blisters on my penis … this isn’t just a regular case of American herpes, this is a case of Herpes from Barbados, which is most likely lethal,” he continued. There has been no word from Rihanna’s camp regarding the accusations.
