After years of back-room dealings and slyly shaping popular culture, the hip-hop Illuminati will finally be yanked from the shadows by culture’s one true savior: The Cleveland Show. On this Sunday’s season premiere entitled, “Menace 2 Secret Society”, guest stars Kanye West, ?uestlove, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, and will.i.am are all revealed as the architects of the modern rap industry. “Cleveland inadvertently breaks into it and then it’s how he will either bring them down or they’ll bring him down,” said executive producer Rich Appel of the episode. “We have a couple of original songs with Kanye and Will and Bruno, I mean, all of them, it was great.”
Two teaser trailers have already hit the Web. The first, available at EW.com, finds the rappers engaged in a secret meeting, where ?uestlove and will.i.am fight over the dress code and West’s Kenny West character and ?uestlove duet on “Chopsticks” ala Tom Hanks’ Big. The second, available for viewing below, features the rappers/pop culture overlords meeting with Cleveland about West’s obsession with “ostriches, spaghetti wigs, and replacing his cat’s eyes with diamonds.”
The Cleveland Show airs October 21st at 7:30/6:30c on FOX.
