After weeks of speculation, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez are the new hosts of X Factor. The announcement came on Tuesday via a statement from X Factor creator Simon Cowell. “The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out,” said Cowell. “Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn’t be happier.”
Odom was also happy about the news and in true Kardashian style, she shared her happiness with the world and expressed her thoughts on her blog. “Hi loves. I’m sure you’ve been hearing the rumors and I’m SO excited that I can finally confirm the news — I am joining The X Factor as co-host with Mario Lopez!!!! I’m a huge fan of the show so I literally fell over in my chair when I heard that I was being considered for the role,” she wrote. “The show already has such an incredible panel of judges and it is truly an honor to have been given this opportunity to work with them. I’m thrilled, overjoyed and of course a little nervous about this new step in my career, and I can’t wait to get started. Wish me luck!”
Her big sisters also hopped on their blogs to express their joy and pride. “OMG!! How exciting is this!? Khloe is joining The X Factor this November to co-host with Mario Lopez,” wrote Kim. “I’m so happy for Khloe and can’t wait to watch her on the show. I can’t think of anyone more perfect for the role!!! Xo”
Eldest sister Kourtney was in the mood to pop bottles. “Wooooohoooooo! Pour the champagne! Khloe is the new The X Factor host with Mario Lopez. They will make such a perfect team! I am so proud and honored to call Khloe my sister. And my soul mate…duh. Congratulations Khloe!” wrote Kourtney.
Lopez, who is juggling hosting duties on “Extra” and “America’s Best Dance Crew” was also happy about the news and is excited about sharing hosting duties with Odom. “I’m very excited to be joining ‘The X Factor’ team,” said Lopez. “I love the show, and I’ve been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloe and I have been friends for years, and I know we’ll be a great team and have a blast.”
Lopez and Odom are replacements for British TV personality Steve Jones, who hosted the first season of the American version of the talent show. The pair will make their first appearance on the show’s first live taping on November 1st.
