Kick-Ass 2 may be in the process of securing Jim Carrey as part as the ensemble cast.
According to a report by deadline, Universal is seeking out Carrey for a supporting role in Matthew Vaughn’s off-beat superhero movie, Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall. Carrey would play the character called The Colonel, the one responsible for putting together Justice Forever, a team of crime-fighting misfits.
Although there is no deal signed yet, but an initial proposal has been made to Carrey, who is a known fan of the original Kick-Ass movie.
Original helmer Matthew Vaughn will return as producer while Jeff Wadlow will take over as director. The film stars Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and John Leguizamo.
If Carrey decides to jump aboard Kick-Ass 2 it will be his first film since doing the family comedy Mr. Popper’s Penguins back in 2011. Before that, the actor was seen as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol.
Kick-Ass 2 opens in the UK on 19 July 2013.
