Now that Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall have decided to leave The Game there has been much anticipation on how the popular onscreen couple will be written out of the show.
Melanie (Mowry) and Derwin (Hall) had been struggling with how to proceed with their relationship facing a potential long distance scenario. In the season 5 finale, the couple had a touching moment where Melanie once again explained why she had to go after her dream.
Although predictable, Derwin came up with the perfect solution. Instead of accepting the crazy amount of money thrown at him by the Sabers, he instead decides to follow Melanie to John Hopkins to support her as she begins her residency program.
“Figured with my schedule wide open, why not take that time,” he said. “Be on the sidelines rooting for my wife?”
This was not the most creative way for fans to say goodbye to Derwin and Melanie, but it sufficed. It also makes it easier for them to make guest appearances in the future.
The remaining cast has stayed on board for the sixth season. It remains to be seen how Tia Mowry & Pooch Hall’s exit will affect the sixth season of The Game.
