Mariah Carey wasn’t shy about showing off her new curves Friday, stepping out in a fitted gold dress that featured a cut-out on the side and a sexy thigh-high split. The singer was sporting the dress for a photo shoot.
The gold metallic dress shimmered in the sunlight as the R&B singer posed for the cameras. Her hair was slicked back into a long elegant ponytail while a pair of wide-framed sunglasses pulled the look together. After a while Carey removed the sunglasses and showed off a simple pair of large gold hoop earrings. Although some stylists weren’t too sure about Carey’s decision to finish the look with black heels, nobody could argue against the 42-year-old mommy’s fabulous new figure.
Mariah Carey confessed that she gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and after giving birth to the twins, it was obvious that it wasn’t just the water weight. The mommy of two gained help from the famous diet program, Jenny Craig, and managed to lose a whopping 30 pounds in three months.
“I used to be able to slim down just by exercising more, but that’s changed,” Mariah Carey told Shape magazine. “Since having the babies, I realized that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet.” Under the Jenny Craig diet, Carey’s calorie intake was reduced to 1500 calories a day, which may have been the most important change to contribute to her big weight loss.
After finishing a solo shoot in the show stopping gold dress, Mariah boarded the boat that was docked near the Italian isle of Capri for a second photo shoot. This time Carey traded in the sexy gold ensemble for a simple black dress. A short touch-up was done to her makeup before she began posing again, but this time with 13-month-old daughter Monroe in her lap. The gorgeous duo posed for more pictures on board the small boat before it was time for Carey’s son, Moroccan, to get in front of the camera. Monroe seemed to love the camera just as much as her mother did, but Moroccan was much more hesitant when it came to the cameras flashing around him.
“Pregnancy was probably the best and the hardest thing I’ll ever go through,” said Carey. When it came to earning back her figure however, the singer said, “I’m proud of how hard I worked to get my body back. I had to do this for me.”
