UPDATE-The 2011 American Music Awards belonged to Jennifer Lopez. The AMAs were held Sunday night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Winners of the evening included Nicki Minaj who bested her boss and mentor Lil Wayne for Rap/Hip Hop album. Minaj also won Rap/hip hop artist and stated “There’s so much love in this room.”
Other winners included Maroon 5 as favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Beyonce for favorite soul/R&B female artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for “Loud” and Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year.
Red carpet pictures included Jennifer Hudson, Heidi Klum, Taylor Swift (who won the coveted Artist of the Year award), Katy Perry and others. The most stunning of the evening was hands down Jennifer Lopez in a one shoulder lace gown. Pitbull was the tie between Jennifer and her estranged husband Marc Anthony. Jennifer performed first with crowd rocking ‘On the Floor’ and soon after Pittbull and Marc Anthony were on stage. And we can say it came close to JLo’s performance! Did we forget to mention Jennifer also won the award for favorite Latin music artist?!
