Rihanna covers Harper’s Bazaar August 2012 issue.
We’re used to seeing a half-naked Rihanna on magazine covers, so we were pleasantly surprised to see the pop star wearing actual clothes on the August cover of Harper’s Bazaar.
For the newsstand cover, Rihanna dons a white-hot Calvin Klein gown and a gold Neil Lane bracelet, and sports neutral makeup and tousled hair. She wears a shimmering gold Tom Ford dress and boots for the subscription cover. The newsstand pic is generic, but we’re dying over the subscription cover. It’s totally fierce and very Rihanna. The pop star continues to wear fancy wares from the likes of Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, and Balmain in the Camilla Akrans-lensed spread.
Of course, no interview would be complete without a mention of her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. She tells the mag how she feels about their collaboration on the remix of “Birthday Cake”:
“The fans could have said, ‘We don’t want anything to do with it.’ I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place.”
She continues to talk about her love life, and even though she doesn’t mention Brown by name, it’s pretty obvious that she’s talking about him:
“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”
We’re sure Rihanna will find love again…in due time.
