Usher Raymond is experiencing the ugly side of fame. The “Climax” singer fears his life is in jeopardy because of a potentially dangerous, delusional female stalker who thinks she and Usher are married.
The father-of-two is taking no chances and has obtained a temporary restraining order against 26-year-old Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw who is reportedly 5’2”, weighing between 140 and 180 lbs.
Darshelle showed up to Usher’s home uninvited on June 23, harassing him and his family by pounding on the front door, demanding to be let in, according to court documents.
Cops were called to the scene because of the trespassing and disturbance and urged the young lady to not return.
However, the “Let It Burn” singer said the stalker returned the next day. And of course, the superstar phoned authorities again. The kicker? This time the stalker insisted she was Usher’s wife and had misplaced her keys, reports TMZ.
The officers didn’t buy the story because…um, Usher’s not married, prompting Darshelle’s arrest.
The second incident forced the “Yeah” singer to obtain a temporary restraining order, until a hearing next month for a more permanent order, because Jones-Rakestraw “placed [him] in reasonable fear for his own safety and/or the safety of his immediate family.”
So, what is the alleged stalker saying in her defense?
Per a posted YouTube video on Wednesday, she claims Usher has been secretly funneling her cash since last year, promising to make living arrangements for her, and that he promised to help with her music career.
Darshelle insists, “I’m not a stalker … [Usher] has officially slandered me and defamed my character” and because of it she says she plans to file defamation charges against the “U Got It Bad” singer soon.
Goodness. It’s been a rough few months for Usher. Hopefully he gains a permanent restraining order!
