Clutches are all the rave this season. Once the go-to bag for big gala nights of splendor as an antiquated addition, but…oh-so-yesterday, clutches have crossed over as a must-have niche! The anti-arm bag is a hot contender to complete dressed down looks for catching a matinee or the strapless number can jazz up enough to be red carpet hand candy. The right clutch—the pickings for the spring season are ripe—can transform an outing while having inquiring minds swarming.
Think of clutches as a way to spice up your look in a subtle or consummate way—either is absolutely acceptable. Mix bold prints, color block with the most flamboyant neon hue, try a daunting Ikat print, rock a floral pattern, or if over-the-top is just not your cup of tea—hock a big leather clutch. It is just as fetch. Whatever you do—have fun with your spring look like Solange did with a green oversized, fan-shaped Lie Sang Bong clutch at Splendid’s Soho Store Opening that utterly spruced up her black and white fit last week.
On the subtle end, Tracey Edmonds opted for a black leather hand to underarm clutch. The clutch snatched her titillating black leather dress and strappy shoes together without a hitch while catching the Broadway play “Streetcar Named Desire” earlier this week. Remember American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez’s glittery turquoise clutch the night she threw her 25-year-old beau, Casper Smart, a surprise birthday party? Simple but chic, giving her turquoise dress the final oomph before stepping out.
Take a peek at this season’s latest clutch offerings:
Try Chained Clutches: Usually the chain is for show, but a tiny added piece of glitz.
Try patterned and printed clutches. The colors this season are all over the rainbow.
The box clutch is so necessary for looking pulled together. Really sexy and tres chic.
The leather clutch is a staple and safe, but is void of drab—just as fab as any other.
The sequin, pearlized, or blinged-up clutch is for the fun girl who has no limits—instant glamour and edge.
I know you are already rocking a clutch, but which style are you adding to your collection?
